9 Country Expedition to Promote 2010 World Cup
South Africa's best-known & most intrepid explorer, Kingsley Holgate, set off this morning from the Indaba Tourism Expo in Durban.  He's headed off on a 9-country expedition through southern Africa to promote the 2010 Soccer World Cup. 



 
Zuma's inauguration on 9 May 2009

Jacob Zuma will be South Africa's fourth democratically elected President and his inauguration ceremony will take place  at the Union Buildings in Pretoria on 9 May.  He is to give his first State of the Nation address, outlining his new administration's programme of action, on 3 June.


This ceremony will be attended by heads of state from all over the world, as well as representatives from the United Nations, the African Union and the Southern Africa Development Community.



 
Another free & fair election for South Africa

The fourth democratic election in South Africa on 22 April 2009 showed an excellent turnout at the polls - with 17.9-million people or 77.3% of the registered 23-million voters turning up to cast their votes - for both national and provincial elections.  This is second-highest turnout since the first democratic elections in 1994, when 19.5-million voters or 87% of the registered voters cast their votes.

Emirates to start Durban flights
Emirates has announced that its flights to Durban, South Africa will commence on 1 October 2009.
