New KZN Airport is named King Shaka International |
The new airport in La Mercy, just north of Durban, has been officially
named King Shaka International Airport, the Geographical Names Council
has confirmed.
 The airport is due to open on May 2, 2010. Both the King Shaka International and the existing Durban International Airport will be operational over the Soccer World Cup period (11 June - 11 July 2010), after which time the Durban International Airport will be decommissioned.
