Buses on track for World Cup
For all those travelling to South Africa for the 2010 Fifa World Cup™, an efficient transport network is in place to get the fans safely to the matches for this great event.

The new Rea Vaya, rapid bus transport system in Johannesburg An experienced transport consortium has been appointed to move fans  from province to province and region to region during the World Cup - which runs from 11 June until 11 July 2010.

Over and above the existing national transport services, a fleet of over 400 mid-buses will be provided by the local taxi industry and 110 dedicated commuter buses will also be used.

The service is supposed to be flexible enough to handle demand and is streamlined towards ticket sales.

Inland services:

There will be transport services between Pretoria, OR Tambo International Airport and Johannesburg, as well as Rustenburg, Polokwane, Nelspruit and Bloemfontein.

Coastal services:

Services will be available from Knysna to Cape Town via Wilderness, George, Mossel Bay and back. There will also be a service from Mossel Bay to Port Elizabeth via George and Wilderness and back.

From East London, spectators will be able to travel to Port Elizabeth via King William's Town and Grahamstown and back.

In KwaZulu-Natal, services will run between Richards Bay and Durban, the Wild Coast Sun and Durban, and between Pietermaritzburg and Durban.

Affordable prices:

Tickets will range from R140 to R300 per person for a one-way trip.

Taxi support

The South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) is also working closely with the contractors to provide a countrywide Minibus service for fans.

These taxi operators will be easily identified by coded armbands and branded clothing/uniforms.

Final routes and ticket information will be available on the official Find your Way 2010 website which is regularly updated.  You can also register online for updates.
