Beware internet ticket scams!! 2 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 2
Project 2010, a website promoting the FIFA (TM) 2010 World Cup has issued a warning to anyone intending to buy soccer World Cup tickets on the internet.

Symantec, a specialist internet security firm, has voiced concerns and is expecting a huge rise in 2010 World Cup-related spam and phishing attacks in the run-up to and during the event. They said that cyber criminals see high profile sporting events as a "prime opportunity".

"As time draws near, fans become increasingly likely to take risks and purchase tickets through unauthorised channels or believe the promises in unsolicited e-mails," said Candid Wueest, from Symantec. "This can not only land fans with useless counterfeit tickets, but also lead to the theft of their credit card details and fund organised crime."

There you have it guys - please make sure you buy your tickets only from registered FIFA sellers. And yes, if the offers sound too good to be true, it always is.

Don't let yourself be duped by these unscrupulous vultures!
