The PREVIEW is on Sunday 20 November at 11h00. Please join us

more next to the originals of your choice.
Bidding will continue
throughout the week.
This is the gallery's major annual fundraiser. With limited funds available for purchase of new works for the permanent
collection at the Tatham Art
Gallery, this unique and
exciting project offers local emerging, development and established artists an
opportunity to be featured in a professionally presented exhibition at the
Gallery whilst raising funds from the sale of their donated artworks. The
original art works, required to fit into a standardized A5 framing format, have
been donated by the artists and are open to the public for viewing and bidding
over a week long period. The Fabulous Picture Show is an exciting
community-based project that offers the local community an opportunity to
support the Tatham
Art Gallery and a rare opportunity to snap up
highly collectable artworks, some of which are from the studios of major
artists, often at very reasonable prices. All proceeds go to the Gallery’s
acquisition fund.
The more than 200
donated artworks – paintings, drawings, prints and sculptures - will be on view
at the Gallery from Sunday 20 to Friday 25 November (including a special Gallery
opening day on Monday 21) from 10hoo to 17h00. A special PREVIEW and launch
party is presented by FOTAG on Sunday 20 at 11:00 am which includes tea/coffee
and an official opening. This is followed by a FREE concert with acclaimed
classical pianist Christopher Duigan playing highlights from his current
Liszt vs. Liszt presentation at
11h45. The Chefs Table, the in-house gallery coffee shop, will be open from 10
am and will also be open for lunch.
The final AUCTION of
The Fabulous Picture Show will take place on Friday 25 November with
refreshments served from 18h00. The bidding on the individual artworks will be
finalised with KZN architect-historian and gallery supporter Robert Brusse
leading the proceedings, guaranteeing a fun and entertaining evening. Place your
winning bid, complete the payment procedure and take your original artwork home!
We guarantee you will have
fun. Proceeds
go towards the purchase of new works for the Permanent
Collection.
