CELLO AND PIANO - Nigel Fish comes from a family which for many years have been closely associated with music in Pietermaritzburg. He studied at the University of Cape Town, in Amsterdam and in Aachen, Germany. He was an original member of the Natal Philharmonic Orchestra and was appointed Principal Cellist in 1986, a position he held until 1996. After relocating to Germany he played in the Symphonie Orchester Aachen and various other ensembles in Germany.

Steinway pianist, Christopher Duigan

Nigel recently returned to Pietermaritzburg where he intends to further his involvement as cellist, educator and coordinator of various musicals activities in KZN. This will be his first major recital on his return to Pietermaritzburg where he is joined by former (cello!) pupil Christopher Duigan at the piano.  Music by Beethoven - Cello Sonata No 2 in G minor and a selection of short and entertaining works.
