Knysna's famous “Pink Loerie Mardi Gras & Arts Festival”, takes place from 27 April to 1 May 2011 - And there's even more reasons to be here this year!
“The Pink Loerie Mardi Gras has become an institution after more than a decade on Knysna's social calendar. It's been decided to build on the brand by adding a mostly day-time ‘Arts Festival’ to the programme," said Coenie Kukkuk, member of the Pink Loerie Organising Committee.
The Arts Festival will be running daily from 11h00 to 15h00. The Pink Loerie Mardi Gras will be concentrated in the evenings and the ever-popular parade will be on Saturday at 15h00. And this year's line-up promises to be more colourful, brighter and exciting than ever.
“Visitors travelling to Knysna for the Pink Loerie will be offered special packages on accommodation and travel. There'll also be a nationwide competition with a prize which will be the highest in value ever to be won – worth no less than R200 000!", Kukkuk said.
