A GRAND NIGHT FOR SINGING
End the year on a ’high note’ with a glamorous evening of opera and song at the Tatham Art Gallery, one of Pietermaritzburg’s landmark buildings. The sumptuous interior provides the perfect backdrop for an evening with two of South Africa's prime opera voices.
Cape Town soprano Beverley Chiat make a flying visit to the city performing in this special concert with Federico Freschi and Christopher Duigan (piano).
Chiat, a genuine coloratura soprano who has been making a name for herself locally and internationally, is noted for the pure tones of her voice and awesome control of the upper soprano register. She sings a selection of the most popular soprano arias including Puccini’s evergreen O mio babbino caro, Vilja from The Merry Widow, and the breathtaking Caro nome from Verdi’s Rigoletto. She joins Freschi in light-hearted duets from Mozart’s Don Giovanni and The Merry Widow.
The programme includes a selection of arias form Freschi including seasonal O Holy Night. A very special evening not to be missed!
R100 pp includes a glass of wine or cap classique on arrival.
