 This tournament celebrates its 30th anniversary this year - and the organisers have lined up some unusual events to commemorate it.
For example, there's a "power striker" event for some long-hitting celebrities on the first hole after the day's play.
“Most golfers and fans of the game will agree that there is nothing as exciting as watching the really powerful ball strikers unleashing their huge drives, and we expect that this will be a hugely popular addition to the tournament,” says tournament director Alastair Roper.

“We have secured the participation of the likes of cricketing hero Shaun Pollock, well known as a long hitter, as well as former soccer star Shaun Bartlett, rugby legend Andre Joubert and Albie Morkel. It will be interesting to see how these celebrities, all known for their length off the tee, compare against the long-driving specialists,” added Roper.
The 2010 Nedbank Golf Challenge promises to be the most memorable, with 12 international players doing battle for the $5 million purse, with $1.25 million going to the champion. Some of these elite players include Louis Oosthuizen, Retief Goosen, Ernie Els and Lee Westwood.
Eight seniors will also compete in the Nedbank Senior Golf Challenge.
