 What can be better than spending an evening celebrating the joy of music around a piano?
The annual performance of I LOVE A PIANO is a celebration of pianos and piano music, directed by Christopher Duigan.
Bringing together music from the worlds of jazz, classical and popular music, this much anticipated event sees an invited stellar group of celebrated performers in a variety evening concert showcase.
Included in this year’s performance are popular Durban artists: pianist Evan Roberts and Shelley McClean (vocals) who will be signing a run of popular songs from jazz standards and musicals to contemporary pop hits and also joins Evan in a two piano/two vocal combo.
Visiting London-based Joanne Rozario on alto-saxophone plays music from ‘nuevo’ tango composer Astor Piazzolla together with pianist Christopher Duigan. Duigan is joined by fellow KZN concert-pianist Andrew Warburton at two pianos for a dazzling selection of music for two pianos by Sergei Rachmaninoff. This follows on rave reviews at their recent Hilton Arts Festival performance.
