Probably the hugest Afrikaans festival of its kind in South Africa. The whole town centre of Oudtshoorn (scenic centre for visiting ostrich farming, Cango Caves & Swartberg Mountains) comes alive with arts, poetry & music - celebrating the rich and earthy Afrikaaner culture.
And DON'T say there's not something for you! Flea markets, kiddies fun fairs, bars, tents, amphitheatres - whatever grabs your fancy.
From folk to rock to blues to anything in-between. Famous local heros ... to unknown/new talent.
And if the going gets too hot (it IS the Karoo for goodness sake) ... you can cool off under the huge water misting fans they've got spread around & about.
Best if you overnight in Oudsthoorn. You won't want to drive anywhere afterwards. And once your head clears the next morning, you just may want to start all over again ...
