Chopin in the Midlands : Women's Day
Christopher Duigan plays his Celebrating Chopin Vol.3 at Tumble Downs in the KZN Midlands. With the success of the recent lunch/music events at Tumble Downs eliciting very favorable responses, an excursion to this popular venue on Women's Day for another lunch time programme of Chopin’s evergreen music and a beautiful meal is not to be missed. This spacious venue offers picturesque views of the Karkloof Valley, welcoming atmosphere and a brilliant acoustic. Christopher Duigan takes his grand piano on the move to play another beautiful selection of Chopin’s music.
Ongoing in 2010 is Christopher Duigan’s Celebrating Chopin 1810-2010. The third in this series, and following outstanding reviews at the Grahamstown Festival for performances of Volumes I & II (see our website www.musicrevival.co.za for more), Christopher Duigan continues this fascinating series with more wonderful music from Frederic Chopin. Included in this performance are two major works; the Ballade No 3 and Scherzo no 3, a selection of the Preludes op 28 composed on Chopin's infamous Majorca expedition, plus Nocturnes, Mazurkas and Waltzes. The Funeral March from the Sonata op 35 and a selection of brilliant Etudes complete the programme.
