Winter in the Cape? Then it's time for Cape Town's "Winter Tonic" - The Vodacom Funny Festival. And it's perfectly timed to co-incide with and run for the entire FIFA World Cup 2010.
So for five weeks, get ready to lighten up your life with some of the best in the comedy business:
The internatioanl line-up includes the awesome UK ventriloquist, Paul Zerdin, (from 7-23 June);the musical comedy genius of The Raymond and Mr Timpkins Revue from London (from 7- 28 June); the quirky “Spanish Testosterone King,” Paul Morocco, from the US (24 June – 7 July); Freddie Mercury’s alter ego, Mario: Queen of the Circus, (29 June – 11 July) straight from a full-house performances with La Clique in Paris; and zany Craig Hill from Scotland (22 June – 11 July).
Local laugh-mechanics include Riaad Moosa, Ndumiso Lindi, Alan Committie (7 – 21 June) and Al Prodgers.
