Already Africa's biggest travel industry showcase, this year’s INDABA is going to be a  huge event where the tour and travel industry gets to show off their products to local and international media.  It's also where the media gets the scoop on all the latest attractions, lodges, experiences and adventures South and southern Africa has to offer.

South Africa Tourism LogoSugen Pillay, South African Tourism (SAT)’s Global Manager for Events says, ‘INDABA is our flagship travel trade show and Africa’s top travel show. It hosts approximately 12 000 international visitors from the trade, media and consumer so it is the principal communications platform in the lead up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.’

He says that with the spotlight fully on the country, all industry players need to pull together to show the world what we have as a tourism destination and he points out that INDABA is the perfect opportunity to do this. ‘It is our golden opportunity to show the world what we have here – fabulous cuisine, wonderful weather, beautiful beaches, big capable cities, world-class infrastructure…basically everything that’s good about South Africa’, says Pillay.

Roshene Singh, Chief Marketing Officer for SAT completely agrees. She says, ‘INDABA is the engine room of our destination marketing work, and is important every single year. This year’s INDABA, however, takes place a month before kick-off for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.

'It’s our very last opportunity to show the world how ready and excited the travel industry is for the big global event of June and July 2010.’
