Prince Albert, is a quaint Karoo village set in a fertile valley of the mighty Swartberg mountains - and its perfect olive growing country.
 Every year, the streets of Prince Alfred come alive with this Olive Festival - which includes a whole lot besides every concievable cullinary and medicinal preparation of these delicious purple and green fruits.
For two days, visitors are treated to a host of country fare and hospitality - from olive pit spitting competitions to local productions of "Dinner for One", marathons, story telling, open garden visits ... and the Mr Popeye and Miss Olive Oil Pageant.
Karoo Lamb ... organic cheese ... dried fruits ... sweet Karoo dessert wines ...
