This is the 2nd event and it offers wine aficionados and budding vintners a chance to experience the magic of harvest for a day – hands-on.
Highlights include * Breakfast in the Vineyards * Grape Picking * Bunch Sorting * Stomping your own grapes * Grape vs Wine Tasting * Harvest Market * Vineyard Tractor Trips * Must tasting * Wine tasting by Horse Cart * Cooking with Grapes…. and much more!
Groups are kept small for a personal, hands-on experience.
Harvest Day Tips
- The days can start out cool and then warm up, so layered clothing is recommended.
- Bring sturdy shoes or boots. (Open toes not recommended.)
- Wear a pair of gloves to stop hands from getting sticky from picking the grapes. (Dishwashing gloves works best as they are flexible.)
- Bring a hat, sunblock and a bottle of water.
- Bring your medicine if you are allergic to bees or get hayfever
- Don’t forget your camera as you will have plenty opportunity to capture your hands-on harvest experience (they are very apprecitive if you forward copies on to them afterwards).
- Bring a fun, enthusiastic attitude and you're sure to have a great time.
Sorry, no pets allowed! (Guide dogs by arrangement).
From early December you'll be able to see the programme online at Hands-On Harvest and start to plan your weekend. A lot of the activities are kiddie-friendly, so this is a perfect family break-away weekend.
All activities need to be pre-booked by 24 February 2009. Tickets are limited.
