The well-known Drakensberg Boys Choir usher in the Festive Season with a selection of joyous Christmas music. With the angelic voices of this boys choir in the equally magnificent acoustic hall, resonating with the sounds from the historic City Hall organ the audience can join in the singing to make a truly memorable evening.
 Guest artist Christopher Duigan (piano), playing music by Liszt and Chopin, is joined by Johannesburg-based Federico Freschi, a favourite with local audiences, in the seasonal songs O Holy Night and The Holy City. Sabine Bird, Principal Flute of the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra is featured in two popular solos - Chopin's Variations on a Theme of Rossini and the evergreen Dance of the Blessed Sprits - adding additional elegance to the programme. The Pietermaritzburg Children's Choir also perform in a selection of music; seasonal and traditional.
The Drakensberg Boys Choir conducted by Johann van der Sandt is the main feature of this performance, which follows on their recent sell-out tour of major cities in Holland. The choir has for many years been at the forefront of superb choral singing nationally and has achieved truly worldwide recognition from their KZN Midlands school base.
