After more than 3000 concerts worldwide we in South Africa finally get
another chance to celebrate the the gifted Chris de Burgh live . He
will be playing in Johannesburg 14 and 15 November 2009, 17 Nov in
Durban, 19 Nov in Cape Town. He launched his debut album 'Far
Behond These Castle Walls' in 1975 but only became really popular in
South Africa after his second album 'Spanish Train and other Stories'.
Songs like 'Just a Poor Boy', 'Patricia the Stripper' and 'Spanish
Train' were played as far away as the Border.
1986 saw the
release of ‘Into The Light', Chris' most successful record to that date
and sold in excess of 10million copies world wide, it also featured the
single ‘The Lady In Red' which was no. 1 in 50 countries and is still
to date one of the most played records on the planet.
He describes his latest album 'Footsteps' as 'Inside this
record you will find some of the songs that I have always loved to sing
and that inspired me to become the performer and the songwriter I am
today. Recorded in the studio with orchestra, band or just a guitar
they represent the footsteps that I took on a musical journey that
started as a dream and has gone further than I could ever of imagined'.
Anybody who has ever seen the Irish Maestro live should already have their tickets but remember 'He who hesitates is lost'.
