Fondly known as The Great Escape, this country festival celebrates
the variety of hospitality venues and attractions the Magalies
Meander has to offer ... as well as the gracious and elegant pastimes that country
life affords. Come and enjoy classical music and gourmet food (complimented with
excellent wines and a variety of other bespoke beverages), indulge in country-style picnics, rambling or get active with a range of outdoor challenges.
The backdrop is the
Magaliesberg mountain range and the soundtrack is classical music mixed
with a few eclectic additions. The main event is the Magaliesberg Country Classic
Festival experience on Thurs 24 September, Heritage Day and a public holiday.
There's all the magical ingredients you'd expect at a country fair: Green Kitchen organic markets, holistical lifestyle products, spas ... plus the many fine dining restaurants and venues of the
Magaliesberg will showcase their extraordinary culinary expertise.
Other fun outdoors events to be staged around and during the course of
the festival include the Bekker Bundu Bash MTB race, the Magalies Mega
Trail Run, the Sasko Harties Cycle Challenge and the festival Charity
Golf day.
