It's official. The City of Johannesburg is Africa's Singapore. The shopping mecca of the African continent. And it's coming out of the closet to show off its array of offerings.
2009 sees the first Joburg Shopping Festival (JSF). It's the biggest shopping, entertainment, and cultural tourism
event of its kind on the African continent.
Although it's only the 2nd largest city in Africa, Johannesburg or Jozi already has an
unprecedented local investment rate of R20 billion. Not too shabby by anyone's standards. And it has a whopping 80 shopping centres within a 70 square kilometre
radius.
 The whole month of September has been declared JSF month - and all participating shops & stores will offer incredible specials, discounts and promotions. Then every week, various areas of the city will be featured, allowing them to show off the many and unique attractions they have to offer - from live music, theatre and
dance shows to sports events, conferences,
exhibition and business tourism events - as well as selected “mini festivals” throughout September.
