Back after a long 8-year wait, is the fabulous musical, CATS. It was first shown in Cape Town and at the State Theatre in
Pretoria, bringing the magic and timelessness of the show to local audiences. And now theatrical guru of South Africa, Pieter Toerien, does it again!
CATS The Musical is a masterpiece by Andrew Lloyd-Webber, loosely based on the well-known book by T.S. Elliot: Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats. Probably its best-known hit is the haunting song, "Memory".
Already, CATS has been performed in 250 cities in over 20 countries. It's been translated into 10 languages: Japanese, German, (three
dialaects for Germany, Austria and Switzerland), Hungarian, Norwegian,
Finnish, Dutch, Swedish, French, Spanish (different versions for Mexico and
Argentina) and Italian. Only the name, CATS, has never been altered.
