Anyone who doesn't know where Jeffrey's Bay is, has obviously never seen a surfboard ... or a wave ... in their lives.
But for those of you who clearly have, head to JBay and the hottest pointbreak in South Africa for the Billabong Pro - an ASP World Tour event #5

Prepare to see some of the world's best surfers battle for pride and places in this world title event. Like Kelly Slater (USA), reigning 9x ASP World Champion
and currently ranking ASP World No. 9. Slater is no stranger to Jeffrey's & has won this event with a record of four victories - in 1996, 2003, 2005 and again in 2008.
“Jeffreys just has this great curve and speed to it that seems to fit
how I like to ride a wave but I’m sure everyone feels that there,”
Slater said. “I have a good sense of the lineup I think, and can
picture what most waves are going to do down the line. I’ve just always
had a good vibe there.”
Adriano de Souza (22) from Brazil is also a former ASP World Junior Champion (2004)
and current ASP World No. 2. He's also planning to make waves at this year's competition.
Other front runners battling for contention include: C.J. Hobgood (USA), 30, Taj Burrow
(AUS), 31, Mick Fanning (AUS), 28, and current ASP World No. 1 Joel
Parkinson (AUS), 28.
Depending on weather & wave conditions closer to the time, the event organisers may decide to run with traditional formats or go for new competition formats.
