This year's Berg River Canoe Marathon will hold its
seeding time trial on 14 July. 2009 will also see many of the new features of the race, including the relay format and the team race with a new prize offered.
Thankfully, this year has seen good rains and with the new Berg River Dam, there's water aplenty ... and loads of thrills and excitement to look forward to.
Only the top 60 chosen at the time-trials will start in the first batch on Wednesday morning, and there are a few late entry spots available - so get your entries in asap!
The race kicks (or paddles rather!) off at Market Street Bridge in Paarl at 09h30 sharp. It will be raced over four stages covering a distance of 240km. It finishes on the Sat in Velddrif on the West Coast. The second day will finish at Bridgetown and not Elani.
The third day will start at Bridgetown. The start on the last day will be
at Zoutkloof.
