"It's an honour to be presenting a South African icon in the intimate setting of the Teatro at Montecasino, who in his 70th year has the enthusiasm, humility, talent and presence that will leave any audience, local or international, breathless," said producer, Tony Feldman.

Masekela will be joined on stage by the multi-award winning singer and songwriter, Thandiswa Mazwai; his long-time friend, the former Sankomota leader and gospel soloist, Tshepo "The Village Pope" Tshola; Tsepo Mngoma as guest violinist; and a seven-member choir.

Bra Hugh, as he is fondly known, has performed on some of the world's biggest stages, including Carnegie Hall in New York; the Royal Albert Hall and the Brixton Academy in London; and the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

He has shared the stage with some of the world's best loved musicians: Bob Marley and Miriam Makeba, Kippie Moeketsi, Fela Kuti and the Crusaders.
