Music is in the air with the first Nottingham Road Classical Music Festival, presented by Music Revival. An outstanding selection of music is on offer in the picturesque KZN Midlands.

With dance music going hand in hand with toe tapping rhythms expect to hear a wide range of compositions from around the world that demonstrate the basic groupings of 2, 3 and 4 beats in a bar and beyond! Featuring the march, waltz and other rhythmic patterns the programme includes Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No 2, Take Five, Flight of the Bumble Bee and Gershwin’s I Got Rhythm. GUITAR RECITAL: MUSIC FROM SPAIN SAT 9 MAY All Saints Anglican Church 3:00 pm One of South Africa's most sough after concert artists, classical guitarist James Grace plays music from Spain for a unique performance. This year sees a renewed focus on the music of Spanish composer Isaac Albeniz, 100 years after his death in 1909. Cape Town-based James Grace includes a selection of Albeniz’s most celebrated compositions including Asturias, Cordoba and other popular favourites as featured on his debut CD, Granada: Music of Spain. CLASSICAL CONCERT: MUSIC ON A SUNDAY MORNING SUN 10 MAY All Saints Anglican Church 11:30 am Enjoy a beautiful performance of serene music on a Sunday morning. Beginning with music for flute by Bach, Vivaldi and Gabriel Fauré, performed by Sabine Baird - Principal Flute with the KZNPO, the programme continues with sacred and secular arias with Federico Freschi (baritone). CLASSICAL PIANO RECITAL: CHRISTOPHER DUIGAN SUN 10 MAY All Saints Anglican Church 3:00 pm Renowned concert pianist Christopher Duigan ends the series with a classical piano recital of music by Mozart, Beethoven, Debussy and Chopin. Widely regarded as one of South Africa’s leading pianists, Duigan who resides in the KZN Midlands, produces the Concert Series at the Hilton Festival and the Franschhoek Music Festivals.
