A unique experience for Cape Town..... The Purdue Varsity Glee Club Choir, a group of 50 male voices from Lafayette, America, will present this concert. Sharing the stage with them will be the Cape Town Red Dazzlers Isicathamiya Choir and dancers. The repertoire of both groups rang from classical to contemporary, gospel to show music. With the support of the Red Dazzlers, the Cape Town audience will be entertained with a few South African favourites such as Shosholoza, Mama Tembu’s Wedding and the National anthem. The mission of the young men from the Purdue University is to make music that fosters camaraderie among students as they learn, rehearse, travel and entertain. For more that 110 years they have made Purdue proud with their voices, charisma, high standard of academics and performance excellence. Their credo is not “No fun without music, no music without fun” for nothing. The Red Dazzlers Isicathamiya, a group of 10 African males, sing about Africa affairs, animals, slavery, love, the streets of South Africa and the spirit of the people. Their programme combines gospel and traditional music with lots of colour, rhythm, movements and humour. Both groups, the Purdue Varsity Glee Club Choir and The Red Dazzlers sing unaccompanied. This evening of exquisite voices promises to warm the hearts and feet of all Capetonians. Book at Computicket 083 915 8000 or www.computicket.com Ticket prices are R100 and R120.
