The concerts are the brainchild of Pamela Shippel, proprietor of the Kirstenbosch Tea Room, with the artistic direction of Tamara Rennie, and were inspired by the very popular Wigmore Sunday Coffee Concerts in London.

The Kirstenbosch Tea Room will serve a sumptuous "stand up" (limited seating available) breakfast buffet with sparkling wine in the concert venue before each concert. Breakfast will be served from 09h30 until 10h45.

Tickets cost R140 which includes breakfast and garden entry (Botanical Society members pay R120). Tickets can be purchased at the Kirstenbosch Ticket Office or telephonically on 021 761 2866 (an administration fee of R10 applies if booking telephonically). The hall only seats 140 so it is recommended that tickets are booked early to avoid disappointment. Seating is unreserved.
