Cape Town Festival

This year, the Cape Town Festival turns 10! - and it's one of those magic festivals that celebrates culture & heritage - and is a uniting force, bringing together all the peoples of Cape Town.

It slots right into the 'One City, Many Cultures' ethos that the festival organisers are proud to promote.

The main festival, as usual, promises a range of diverse arts, culture and heritage happenings that caters for all cultural groups and ages.  So whether you're a Mother City residents or local or international visitor, you can look forward to an exciting line-up that includes jazz greats Jonathan Rubain, Robbie Jansen; Alvin Dyers, Leslie Kleinsmith; as well as other homegrown favourites such as Prime Circle, Coda, The Rudimentals, The Rockets, Alistair Izobel and the likes of Nomfusi Gotyana  (the only newcomer invited to perform at a recent Miriam Makeba tribute concert), as well as Mono Dullisear, Celeste Williams, Moreira Project and Raylene.

Kaapse Klopse contemplates ...As usual, community festivals will also take place at Muizenberg (Wednesday 25 - Friday 27 February), Atlantis (Saturday 28 February) and Hanover Park (Saturday 7 March). Communities are encouraged to partake in a Unity Parade and Community Vibrations Day, both set for Sunday 22 March, at which top performers from these three communities will once again strut their stuff.

A stimulating Youth Workshop Programme, which will seek to engage 2 000 learners from no less than 30 schools between Monday 16 to Friday 20 March.
