The first children's production for 2009, just in time for the Easter school holidays, is Jack and the Beanstalk.

This much-loved fairytale features music, comedy and thrills aplenty for both boys and girls - and, of course, their parents. Directors Keith Smith and Jill Girard will be weaving their usual theatrical magic with a winning combination of old-fashioned charm and modern touches, creating a fantasy landscape that will bring the power of live entertainment to vivid life.

This happily-ever-after family musical treat will serve as a reminder that "if you can dream it, you can do it!" It is set to continue the People's Theatre tradition of bringing together thousands of children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, teaching them valuable life lessons and communication skills, and uniting them in an appreciation of the art of live, interactive theatre.
