Cape Town: Goldfish live @ Kirstenbosch
Sunday, 12 April 2009, 17:30 - 18:30 Hits : 138
This hot duo local phenomenon has been invited to perform as an additional concert in the Old Mutual Summer Sunset series as a fund-raiser to help Kirstenbosch be represented at the annual Chelsea Flower Show.

South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) currently has no official sponsor for the Chelsea Flower Show exhibit, so this extra concert will raise sorely-needed funds to send a South African exhibit to what is known as the floral "Olympics" - the Royal Horticultural Society's Chelsea Flower Show which takes place in the UK from 19 to 23 May. Proceeds will go to this 33-year old tradition of showing off South Africa's incredible plant diversity at this global event.

Awesome duo, Goldfish consists of Dominic Peters and David Poole - both local Capetonians.  These unassuming surfer/jazz musicians and electronic gurus are one of the most exciting live electronica acts in the world. Their rise to fame has been nothing short of meteoric and with their combination of live instruments and vocals with samplers, effects, synthesisers plus a healthy helping of free-form improvisation, Goldfish has hit a nerve on dance floors across the world. They are hailed as the re-invention of the DJ, and were voted best live act in South Africa.

Concert time: 17h30 - Gates open 15h30.

Tickets will be on sale soon from www.tunegum.com or from Kirstenbosch from the Tuesday before the concert.
