An exhibition on the life and work of Phillip Valentine Tobias, Wits Professor Emeritus, Anatomy and Human Biology, is on at the Adler Museum of Medicine, and runs until 13 June.
Tobias is SA's most honoured and decorated scientist, best known for his pioneering work at some of SA's most famous hominid fossil sites including Sterkfontein and Makapansgat, and for his 25-year collaboration with Louis and Mary Leakey, in Tanzania and Kenya. Besides being a world-renowned palaeo-anthropologist, he is also a humanist, a scientist, geneticist and anatomist.
