Emperors Palace will host an exciting Weekend Freeze Out.
 The total prize money will be around the R1 million mark with 90 players, who, on the Friday night for four hours will be permitted to re-buy into the tournament, players are also permitted to add-on at the end of the Friday night session.
All players will start at the same time with 5 000 poker chips (R5000). The cash prize of R1 million is dependent on the number of players through the tournament as well as the number of buy-ins.
An Emperors Palace Poker Ring will be presented to the winner – an exclusive initiative created by the resort. The tradition started in April 2008 with the first ring being awarded to the legendary Ray Rahme who won the Emperors Palace Inaugural Poker Challenge with a Turbo format in September 2007. The rings are valued at R70 000 and are custom made for each tournament keeping with the WSOP bracelet tradition with the name of the tournament and date. Each ring is made from 18 carat yellow gold and is adorned with rubies, black diamonds and white diamonds.
