This is most probably the last Sweat Lodge that we will run in Rivonia until December or January so consider joining us on Wed 3 September - This lodge will focus on bringing in Abundance and Joy for the Spring of 2008

Below is a description of how we will be running this lodge.

The greater underlying intention in all Sweat Lodges is to acknowledge, feel and experience our spirit bodies. When groups of people come together and focus their intent, it becomes a potentially powerful and creative situation. By doing these ceremonies we gently weave a web of connections between those present and all of our Relations (all of creation). Participating in such a ritual is an intimate adventure into our spirit reality.

In this Spring Purification Lodge we come together to acknowledge the four elements. They are alive; they exist within us and within the Earth. We come together to experience oneness, with the elements and with the Earth. The Sweat Hut represents the womb of the Earth Mother. When we are inside, we are back in the womb where we can experience rebirth and death of those parts of our ego that no longer serves our growth. We sweat for four quarters, each of which represents one of the four elements.

Air is the focus for the first quarter and retaining the silence in the lodge, we breathe focusing on the living element of air, which we draw into the depths of our lungs, filling our lungs to capacity with each breath. The Lodge keeper will sing some beautiful songs invocation.

Fire is the focus for the second quarter. You will learn the process of awakening the chakras with the Rainbow light meditation. We chant the sounds E - A - I - U - O - M - Z, each sound awakening a different energy centre in our body. While we chant each specific sound we will focus on its colours. At the end of this round we chant the rainbow light meditation, shining our light out to all sentient beings (all of our relatives) from the Sweat Hut.

Water is the focus for the third quarter. This is the flowing round, the female round. In this round the Sweat Lodge Drum is brought into the Lodge. With it comes a rattle which is handed around the circle. The person who holds the rattle may sing a song(if they wish), if the rattle is shaken during the singing then the Drum will accompany the song. This is a lovely round where each individual has the opportunity to express themselves if they wish.

Earth is the focus for the final round. In this round we teach more songs which are sacred to the Sweat Lodge. In this last round most of the songs are for the Earth. Our ceremony is then complete. We exit the Sweat Lodge in silence and those who wish may dive into the swimming pool to cool off. We complete the evening with a yummy Vegetarian soup and Bread.

Please book to secure your place. The Cost is R200, if pre-paid by internet or deposited into my account before the evening. Or R250 on the evening. A light meal is included. We begin at 6:30pm on each evening and end between 10 and 11pm.
