Johannesburg,Rosebank and Zoo Lake: Joburg Pride Gay Festival
Saturday, 04 October 2008, 08:00 - 17:00 Hits : 100

“Love, Not Hate” theme

In light of the continued threat to the lives of lesbian and gay South Africans, the theme LOVE, NOT HATE was chosen to highlight the ongoing hate crimes crisis.

This year’s Joburg Pride Parade will take place on Saturday 4th October, once again at Zoo Lake.

Last year’s Joburg Pride Parade was seen as one of the most successful in years, with an estimated five thousand gays and lesbians – and their friends and families – turning out despite the rainy weather.

This year's festival will culminate in the customary Parade, followed by an open-air celebration and later by after-parties at various venues around Joburg. The chic suburb of Rosebank and Zoo Lake park have been chosen to host this year’s Pride event with full support of the city.

Gates open at 9 am
Parade starts at 11 am
Party / Concert ends at 6 pm
