Woodstock is the largest annual music festival in the country and this year, it turns 10! Once again, 2009's festival will see South Africa's finest bands from a huge variety of different genres ready to rock you! As per usual, there'll be a healthy mix of skateboarders, BMX riders, FMX riders, offroad Sandmaster-type cars and paintball; with a good variety of stalls destined to keep the browsers happy. A new idea to look forward to this year is the 'Sunset Happy Hour' when there'll be a break in music, giving everyone the chance to go & do their stuff - refuel at the bar ... chat t new friends ... go paintballing ... or take a stroll on the beach. It's way safe - with 24 hour secure parking - and there's loads of land to explore. Space is just so not an issue! There are a couple of changes to the stages: apart from the usual main stage and alternative stage, there'll be a third stage - "The Village Party Stage" and a fourth DJ Stage, which will continue playing music into the early hours of the morning. A welcome fifth addition is the Hip Hop tent. And if it gets too hot for you? Cool off in the river. There are designated, secure camping areas with shady trees. There will be food stalls and home-cooked meals provided by the legendary Riversands crew - famous for being the "Home of the Original Chicken Pie". Join the "Woodstock 10" group on Facebook. Tickets are available from Computicket at R300 or at the gate for R350. Group tickets will be available from Surreal Sounds at a reduced rate - email info@surrealsounds.co.za with details of the number of tickets needed. Looks like this is the place to be come November! |
