It's almost that time of the year again! Time for the first & only  Mardi Gras on the African Continent, the Pink Loerie Mardi Gras!

It' a time for boys, boys and wannabe boys, lipstick lesbians and everyone not afraid of homosexuals to let your hair down and party.

It's a time to celebrate your sexuality, your sexual freedom, your culture, your constitutional right – and your life!

And as always the Pink Loerie will not disappoint. We have grown from strength to strength – year after year with your support, your input and your help and we are once again ready for your visit!

This year's big news is ... Cha-Cha Heels – the Extravaganza.

This sensationall show-stopper will be in Knysna during the Pink Loerie Mardi Gras for two nights only! The show will be different to the one at the Tesson Theatre in JNB – Bryan and Kurt are adapting it to suit the Loerie audiences – new acts, NEW and even more fabulous costumes arrived from Thailand – it will without a doubt be the biggest, most glam, most over-the-top, most professional drag show  ever in the history of South Africa.  Sort of an old-fashioned style  “Sun City” Extravaganza – complete with big wigs, feathers, sequinns and sometimes very skimpy clothing. Apart from this show, we will have awesome parties again, great competitions, the Mr. Mardi Gras SA, the Miss Mardi Gras SA and the Miss Mardi Gras Drag competitions, the Best Costume in the parade (Zanzibar will sponsor another Pink Vuka scooter again!) and many more ...

Our VIP guests for 2009 will be the gorgeous icon, Dr. Mixael de Kock and the fabulous, Coenie Kukkuk, owner of the first and only e-zine in SA, GAYSPEAK! – one of the biggest and best communications into the gay community. These two boys do more for and in the gay community than most of us can imagine! And for even more excitement – the gorgeous Poster Boyz will be in town
