The Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon has become known as the world’s most beautiful marathon. The first race was held in 1970 and saw 26 runners line up to face the unknown challenge. Today, the race is recognised internationally and attracts ovre 26 000 entrants across the ultra & half-marathons & the fun run.
Good news is that the city of Cape Town has assured the race organisers that Chapman's Peak route will be open for this year's event. It's a particularly scenic route with breath-taking views and is a major attraction for both local & international competitors. It's become a firm favourite on the Easter event calendar for Cape Town and there is a festival of events & activities running up to the main event guaranteed to keep families, friends and entrants entertained & enthused for the big day. The main sponsor is Old Mutual. Entrants can choose from various distances: - the scenic 56km ultra-marathon
- the popular 21km half-marathon
- the 5km fun run
- the 2.5km fun run
