The Grand Daddy feels like a family-owned hotel and in some respects it is. It is a part of the Daddy Long Legs Group, who also brought us Cape Town’s original art hotel, Daddy Long Legs, and the Daddy Long Legs Self Catering Apartments. The philosophy is simple – provide excellent service, clean, comfortable rooms, a creative feel and charge less for it!

Luxury shouldn’t exclude playfulness so The Grand Daddy has infused all its rooms and communal spaces with magical creative touches to ensure that guests are pleasantly surprised by the unexpected, the humorous and the interesting.

The Grand Daddy’s warm and hospitable staff will guide you through this gentle journey throughout your stay by offering little-known information about the surrounds and the history whilst also performing the necessary business of hotels in a calm and caring manner.

Of course, The Grand Daddy’s big talking point is its ‘penthouse’ trailer park, where a collection of vintage Airstream caravans nestle beneath the backdrop of Table Mountain. Each of the 7 two-sleeper trailer suites have been indivually created and designed by local artists. It's way up there in the unique accommodation stakes! 'Scuse the pun.

Directions: From Airport head to "City" on N2, direction mountain then to the right down to the Foreshore. Take "Strand Street" off-ramp and continue for about 0.5 kms on Strand, then turn left into Long Street

The Venue,
found on the first floor of the Hotel, is the perfect place for just about any function. perfect for conferences, meetings, corporate dinners, cocktail parties and product launches, the Venue is a central location for all your gatherings. The Boardroom,
is an excellent, central location for a small conference, meeting, brainstorming session or presentation. The surrounds inspire energy and creativity. The staff are friendly and efficient and the room is clean, open and subtly decorated to provide a blank canvas for your event.

Legendary Cape Town chef, Bruce Robertson, has teamed up with the exceptionally capable and impressively experienced, Simoné Rossouw to create a very yummy corner café right here at The Grand Daddy.

Start with breakfast! There is an extensive range available.

The daily marketplace is a tempting spread of buffet salads, hot bakes and curries and gorgeous home-baked breads – you can also go a la carte. Note the extensive wine list too!

The Showroom Café always chooses fresh produce (preferably organic). Look out for the Proudly South African icons to take your tastebuds traveling.

Summer is definitely the best time to visit: November to April. The Daddy though is a "happening" place the whole year round.
Book way ahead if you can.

Why visit The Grand Daddy Luxury Hotel

Best Features: Without a doubt it's the "Airstream Penthouse Trailer Park" set on the roof that gets everybody going. But this is a touch unfair to the rest of the establishment which is world class and chic to boot. Its location within walking distance to the buzzing life of Long Street is a great plus. Long street is often missed by the "normal tourist".
In house Restaurant and Bar will convenience those more into cuckooning or romance or both.
Daddy Cool Bar is perfect for sharing a bottle of champagne or sampling some sexy cocktails: their bar staff are master class when it comes to perfecting the mix and shake. An extensive wine list will thrill the connoisseur and whisky drinkers will be warmed by the diverse array of single malts.Laid-back DJ’s hit the decks from time to time.
Bear In Mind: The uniqueness of the trailers is that they are set outside on the roof which is fine in summer but perhaps not to the liking of all during the rainy season in winter.
Set in the City Bowl it can be noisy during the day. This is not a beach Hotel and is proud of it.
