About

Camdeboo Manor is magical mix of both worlds - it's just a 5 minute drive to Graaff-Reinet town, yet it's got a real Karoo countryside feel to it.

And don't be misled by the somewhat ordinary driveway and regular-looking outbuildings as you approach the house. Because as soon as you step over the threshhold, you realise you've stepped into someplace special.

For starters, the furniture is so distinctly different - the rooms (just three of them) have these gynormous wooden beds - like modern-day 4-posters.  Just as well a little step is provided to help you climb into them at night - if you're not the tallest person in town!  Most of these furnishings have been collected by the de la Harpes during their stint in the hotel industry in Tanzania.

And the attention to detail and guests' comfort really shines through.  The bedrooms are sumptuous and the bedding is sublime. Two of the bathrooms have Victorian slipper-baths and modern glass shower stalls.  Single beds can be added for 3rd adult or children sharing.

From the first welcome drink to the nightly treat and turn-down service, you'll find Camdeboo Manor has hospitality in spades!

Directions

Directions: From Graaff-Reinett, head away from the church down Church Street towards Port Elizabeth (R75).  About 1,5 kms from town, you'll pass the Police Training College on your right.  About 1/2 km after the last buildings, you'll take left turn off to Port Elizabeth.  You'll go over a bridge after about 500 m and then another 500 m on you'll find the Wolwas/Kroonvale intersection. Turn right toward Wolwas and follow the dirt road for about 1,5 km to a T-Junction. Camdeboo Manor is straight in front of you.
