About

18 on Park, 'The Coach & Carriage' is situated on the doorstep of Kingswood College in Grahamstown.  It is one of the town's oldest gems,  built in 1857 originally to house the coach and carriages of Colonel P G Gane, (a founder of Kingswood College).

Over the past 150 years the cottage and main homestead have been both a home to the first girls who joined Kingswood College and then later as a boys hostel (Cohen House).

In an exciting turn of events, two former Kingswoodians have lovingly restored the cottage and look forward to welcoming you - your hosts Dean and Julie Kent.

The cottage has three bedrooms (all en-suite) with twin three-quarter beds in each, dressed with crisp percale linen.  One room has a small alcove that can accommodate any little ones who need close proximity to Mom and Dad.

Also on offer is a cosy flat with open-plan kitchen and lounge.

Both the cottage and the flat offer breakfast, but you are welcome to do self-catering.

Guests can enjoy the secluded garden with a private swimming pool.
