A popular tourist destination, Knysna has natural beauty in spades - nestling on the shores of the lagoon & watched over by the magnificent 'heads' to the south.  It hosts several festivals a year and some unique & quirky events - like the 4-day Knysna Pink Loerie Mardi Gras (gay festival) in early May, the 10-day Knysna Oyster Festival in early July and the 4-day Gastonomica Festival in late September (see events calendar) and is home to the Judah's Square Rastafarian community.
