Vaal / Sedibeng Region

This part of Gauteng province is bordered by the Vaal River in the south, famous as a weekend getaway and haven for watersports lovers. 

The Vaal Dam, is pivotal in Gauteng's electricity & water supply.  But it's better known as a playground for outdoor enthusiasts - from fishing & camping to arts & crafts to watersports of every kind: white-water rafting, canoeing, jet skiing, wakeboarding, boating, fishing, sailing ... 

For miles along the banks of the Vaal, you will find resorts, developments, yacht clubs, casinos, entertainment complexes and more.

Parys, one of the 'hubs' of the area, has seen incredible development in recent years and is a favourite spot for breakfast runs (motorbikes), weekend escapes and crafts.
