Moremi and Okavango Region

This is the major tourist area of Botswana and its main hub, Maun, is the usual entry point to both the fabulous Okavango Delta and the Moremi Game Reserve, known as one of Africa's most beautiful wildlife reserves. It is known far and wide for superb, untamed game viewing. There are also other lesser-known attractions, like Tsodilo Hills. These ancient hills with their quartzite cliffs are steeped in San myth and legend. You can almost feel their enigmatic and spiritual quality.  With some 500 individual sites charting thousands of years of human habitation, this one of the most historically significant rock art sites in the world. To this day, there is a small San setllement nearby as well as a village  inhabited by the Hambukushu people.
